Northland School Division (NSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Angi Sanregret as Bill Woodward School's new principal.
Angi is a Métis iskwew, a mother of seven, and a grandmother of three. She has been an educator for 25 years and has spent 12 of those years with Northland. Throughout Angi’s career, she has worked primarily in Indigenous schools and has also pursued her passion for writing. She is a published author and is currently preparing two books scheduled to be released this spring.
“Angi understands the context and the overarching goals of Northland School Division,” said Cal Johnson, Superintendent of Schools/CEO. “She previously served as principal at J.F. Dion School and has already proven herself as a strong leader in the division. We are very pleased to welcome her back to Northland.”
“I am honoured to have the privilege to work with you and your community this year,” said Sanregret. “I pride myself on a heart-led leadership approach that incorporates my beliefs and values as a Métis iskwew. I believe in open communication, open hearts, and open minds. I treat each individual as their own person, and I look forward to getting to know all of you in the coming months. Once again, thank you for having me in your community, and let’s work together to keep your schools thriving and striving for success.”
Angi holds a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Indigenous Education and Heart-Led Leadership from the University of Calgary.
