Northland School Division is seeking to fill the position of Temporary Head Cook for the Susa Creek School Lunch Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The Kindergarten to Grade 8 school is located approximately 12 kilometers from Grande Cache, Alberta and 450 kilometers from Edmonton, Alberta. Susa Creek is one of four cooperatives in the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation. To learn more visit https://www.aseniwuche.ca/awn-and-the-communities/. This position is 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and will report to the school principal. 

Key Responsibilities

• A service-oriented attitude and a passion for working with school aged children
• Preparation of lunches according to the menu
• Serving lunches
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the commercial kitchen
• Placing and receiving grocery orders and inventory control
• Completing all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Adhering to cleaning/sanitizing protocols as determined by the Operations Manager and the school division

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience
• A recognized Food Safety Course is considered an asset
