Northland School Division

Additional Information:

Northland School Division is seeking to fill the position of Full Time Assistant Cook for the Gift Lake School Lunch Program for the 2025-2026 school year. The school serving Kindergarten through Grade 10 is located in the Gift Lake Métis Settlement, one of only eight legislated Métis land bases with Métis governments established in Northern Alberta, Canada, and protected by legislation. It is situated along Highway 750, about 84 kilometres northeast of High Prairie. This position is 7.7 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and will report to the school principal. 

Major responsibilities include:

• Working under the direction of the Head Cook to help prepare meals
• A service-oriented attitude and a passion for working with school aged children
• Preparation of meals according to the menu
• Serving meals
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the commercial kitchen
• Adhering to cleaning/sanitizing protocols as determined by the Operations Manager and the school division

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Previous cooking experience
• A recognized Food Safety Course is considered an asset
