Additional Information:

Northland School Division is seeking to fill the position of Full Time Head Cook for the Elizabeth School Lunch Program for the 2025-2026 school year. The kindergarten to grade 9 school is located in the Elizabeth Métis Settlement,  one of only eight legislated Métis land bases with Métis governments established in Northern Alberta, Canada, and protected by legislation. The settlement is situated along the Alberta/Saskatchewan border and is 36 kilometres from Cold Lake. This position is 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and will report to the school principal.

Key Responsibilities

• A service-oriented attitude and a passion for working with school aged children
• Preparation of lunches according to the menu
• Serving lunches
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the commercial kitchen
• Placing and receiving grocery orders and inventory control
• Completing all required paperwork in a timely manner
• Adhering to cleaning/sanitizing protocols as determined by the Operations Manager and the school division

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience
• A recognized Food Safety Course is considered an asset
